Burlington City Church began in the home of Kevin & Christin Pounds in the summer of 2011 with only a handful of people focused on ministering together in Burlington’s Old North End- Vermont’s most impoverished and ethnically diverse neighborhood. The idea was simple yet incredibly significant: learn to live out the message of Jesus together in our community. Since that summer Burlington City Church has met in several different locations around the Old North End and now meets on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the former Saint Joseph’s School. We also still love meeting together in homes in what we call Gospel Communities. We’re now a church of over forty people made up of families with children, young professionals, former refugees, and college students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Although at first glance we might seem very different, we are bound together by a sincere desire to follow Jesus and live out His message together.
